Sutter West Bay Medical Group (SWBMG) seeks a compassionate and motivated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Breast Surgery Team in San Francisco. This new and unique opportunity supports a Virtual High-Risk Breast Cancer Program, focused on early detection, risk assessment, and coordinated care for patients with elevated lifetime risk for developing breast cancer.
Responsibilities:
· Collaborate closely with breast surgeons, radiologists, genetic counselors, medical oncologists, primary care doctors, and a nurse navigator to deliver comprehensive care to patients at high-risk of developing breast cancer.
· Conduct detailed patient histories and assessments utilizing validated breast cancer risk screening models.
· Provide education, counseling, and imaging surveillance recommendations for patients identified as high-risk.
· Coordinate diagnostic imaging and follow-up care.
· Participate in program development, process improvement, and data tracking to help refine the program.
· Evaluate and treat patients with benign and malignant breast conditions.
· Perform clinic procedures such as breast ultrasound, needle aspiration, skin biopsy, incision and drainage.
· Potentially assist in OR with breast surgery.
About the Breast Surgery Team:
The Breast Care & Breast Surgical Oncology practice includes 4 breast surgeons, 2 PAs, and 1 NP. We have 2 clinics in San Francisco and 1 in Novato. In addition to caring for patients with breast cancer, we also care for patients with benign breast diseases, ranging from lactational issues, breast infections, benign breast cysts/masses. Our practice already includes a high-risk breast cancer surveillance clinic, as well as survivorship care. The Virtual High-Risk Breast Cancer Program will improve patient access throughout the Sutter Health network.
