The Vice President of Quality and Patient Safety will serve as an influential and highly visible leader and will provide strategic direction and planning for all quality measures throughout the system. This individual will lead a talented team of multi-disciplinary professionals and is responsible for meeting or exceeding the institutional goals for set for Quality across UCSF Health and to appropriate external reporting bodies. The Vice President will be proactive in their approach in seeking opportunities to improve quality metrics while achieving departmental and system goals. They will work closely with leadership throughout the medical system to ensure alignment with current regulatory requirements. They will also foster and maintain a goal-oriented environment of teamwork, collaboration, and consistent achievement of objectives to ensure that UCSF Health continues to provide the safest and highest quality care to patients.

The successful candidate will be an innovative thinker with extensive executive leadership experience in a large, complex academic health system as well as demonstrated success in quality improvement, patient safety, program development and expert-level knowledge of current practices/requirements in Quality and Patient Safety. Prior executive level experience is required for this role. This individual will have a demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with all facets of the health system to achieve organizational goals. Experience with LEAN methodologies/principles is highly desirable.
Compensation Range: $110,500 - $366,100

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the equity of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role. For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
