The Opportunity
SSM Health, an innovative and nationally recognized non-profit, multi-state Catholic health system is seeking a dynamic, visible, collaborative, forward thinking healthcare executive, with a track record of driving strategic growth, to lead the SSM Health-Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital (Cardinal Glennon) and to further develop and expand the pediatric service line across SSM Health.
The President, Cardinal Glennon Health Services and System Vice President, Pediatric Services is the lead executive for Cardinal Glennon Ministry providing direction and oversight of the operational and clinical activities at Cardinal Glennon Ministry, including hospital and clinics, and leads the strategic development and direction for SSM Health pediatric services. The President develops short- and long-term goals and plans ensuring alignment with broader organization priorities. The split of time is approximately 70% Cardinal Glennon responsibilities and 30% system-wide initiatives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Ten years’ leadership experience with a substantial portion in a pediatric setting, with five years’ in an executive leadership role as a CEO or COO (equivalent title). Academic pediatric leadership experience required. The successful candidate will currently be a President/Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, SVP/VP of Operations, or hold another senior executive-level position in healthcare provider organization with a regional and/or national reputation for excellence. Regardless of current and prior positions held, the successful candidate must possess outstanding and hands-on operational and financial management skills/experience. Must be effective in a matrixed environment. Multi-hospital system experience is preferred, but not an absolute requirement.
Education
Master's degree or equivalent clinical degree required in health or hospital administration, business administration or a related management or clinical field.

The Lake Saint Louis area is well served by two major highways, which makes the rest of the St. Louis region very accessible. St. Louis attractions such as Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, Spirit of St. Louis Executive and General Aviation Airport, and Riverport Amphitheater (UMB?Pavilion) are all within a 30-minute drive. Downtown St. Louis is within a 45-minute drive of Lake Saint Louis. St. Louis is the second largest city in Missouri, located along the Mississippi River. The city is home to a variety of attractions, activities, and events for all ages. Among the city's notable sights is the 630-foot Gateway Arch in the downtown area. St. Louis is also home to the St. Louis Zoo and the Missouri Botanical Garden. Major universities include Saint Louis University and Washington University.
