Who are we? 

The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC) is a sovereign tribe located in the metropolitan Phoenix area. Bounded by the cities of Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa and Fountain Hills, the Community serves over 10,800 tribal members, and all persons conducting business over approximately 96 square miles area of residential, agricultural and commercial lands, as a full-service government entity.   

What the job looks like:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and collaborative Risk Manager to join our Health & Human Services Department. You will be a key player in shaping a proactive risk culture that prioritizes patient safety and regulatory compliance across all service areas. This role requires someone who can think critically, act decisively, and communicate effectively with both clinical and administrative teams.

In this position, you will lead risk management efforts, oversee incident reporting, and facilitate root cause analysis to identify and mitigate potential risks. You’ll also supervise Patient Advocate staff, manage the event/incident reporting portal, and ensure timely resolution of complaints. Your ability to interpret data, track performance metrics, and implement corrective actions will directly impact the quality of care provided to the Community.

Additionally, you will support HIPAA compliance, accreditation readiness, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. You’ll collaborate with leadership to develop risk management policies, deliver staff training, and contribute to the development of key performance indicators. Your work will help ensure SRPMIC meets and exceeds healthcare standards while honoring the values and needs of the Community.

Apply if you have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field or Registered Nurse (RN) licensure, and three (3) years of experience in risk management
• A Master’s degree and/or Arizona licensure in a health services discipline (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of risk mitigation, quality improvement, HIPAA compliance, and healthcare operations
• Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills
• A passion for improving systems and outcomes in a culturally respectful and community-centered environment
