Position Overview:
The Manager, Risk Management, manages hospital-wide risk management activities. This individual administers the risk management program to reduce the frequency and severity of events. They manage and analyze risk management data and conduct educational programs. The Risk Manager gathers data for insurance renewal, assists with investigation and resolution of claims, and complies with risk management-related standards. They promote patient safety and quality care; minimize the loss to protect the assets of the organization.

Essential Functions include but not limited to:
Analyze the facility, process/systems (Incident Reporting System), and historical data to pinpoint improvements to prevent losses or to prevent further claims.
Conduct initial investigations of Potential Compensable Events (PCE) and coordinate ongoing follow-up efforts to resolve claims.
Create documentation and education materials to meet department needs.
Gather and analyze data; prepare reports for outside agencies.
Provide development guidance and assist in the identification, implementation, and maintenance of information privacy and security policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field obtained through a formal 4-year program required.
Minimum of 5 years of related healthcare experience required.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or holds a multi-state nursing license; or able to obtain license prior to start is preferred.
