About the Role:
Job Summary
This position is responsible for supporting the hospital's Patient Safety program through focused reviews/investigations relative to patient/staff safety; facilitation of root cause analysis; presentation of reviews/investigations/root causes and associated data review and analysis. Participates in planning and implementation of Patient Safety education for NGMC staff. Additional responsibilities may include projects to identify and manage improvement opportunities for key operational and clinical initiatives. After hours call may be required.
Minimum Job Qualifications
Licensure or other certifications: Current RN license in the State of Georgia.
Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree. Graduate of state accredited school of Nursing.
Minimum Experience: Five (5) years clinical direct patient care experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.

Preferred Experience: At least three (3) years patient safety, quality, and/or risk management healthcare experience.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Facilitates and presents interdivisional/departmental problem-solving/improvement activities for Patient Safety issues and concerns.
Serves as a resource for investigation/analysis of information/data related to patient safety.
Contributes expertise to hospital/system and medical staff committees; and other projects, as assigned.
Participates in ongoing analysis, planning/implementation of action plans and evaluation of strategic Patient Safety initiatives.
Facilitates RCAs, Common and Apparent Cause Analysis, and A3's as assigned.
