This leader develops, organizes and drives a physician-facing department towards operational success through attaining exceptional outcomes through high-reliability, and by partnering with all other relevant internal and external stakeholders. This position must be a physician advocate who leads the functions of the organized Medical Staffs at all Centura hospitals, EUCs, and affiliated surgeries centers through the complex matrix of the Enterprise. This position provides operational leadership and oversees the execution of short and long-term enterprise-wide projects to support local and corporate operations and requires collaboration across the enterprise and with Centura stakeholders to achieve strategic goals. This is accomplished through personal and professional accountability, transparency, and urgency.This leader is responsible for the legal, regulatory and management aspects of multiple separate and distinct Medical Staff organizations, with outcomes reported directly to Governing Boards, to include aligning strategically and operationally all the Medical Staff governance structures within the hospitals and within the health system. Leads the planning and budgeting of a regulatory-compliant, state-of-the-art Medical Staff governance program, to include components risk management, credentialing, leadership development, peer review, and continuing education. This leader provides strategic direction and support in risk management, clinical quality, patient safety, regulatory readiness, and outcome effectiveness including best practices for the entire health system. This position has responsibility for implementation of all Joint Commission, CMS, Department of Health, ACGME and ACCME accreditation/licensure standards, and numerous state and federal peer review laws. As well, they are responsible for all relevant reporting requirements for two states' licensing boards, departments of health, CMS and NPDB. This position reports to the designated Enterprise senior physician executive.Important to this role is understanding the leadership expectations of this position and the entire team. This Enterprise Director must have a personal and professional connection to the Mission of our organization. This position must contribute toward a Team centered approach which lends itself to associate development and growth. Finally, this position will create change by being bold in thoughts and actions which generate the need for urgency as the department forges ahead as the thought leader in our industry.What You Bring/Job Requirements:In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: * Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field* Master's degree in healthcare related field or business, preferred* Seven (7) years of experience in Medical Staff/CVO/Payer credentialing, preferably at a system/multi-site level* Seven (7) years of experience in leading medical staff services departments, preferably at a system/multi-site level* Demonstrated expertise in regulatory and accreditation standards and law relative to Medical Staff Services (peer review, corrective actions, credentialing, privileging, etc.), to include TJC, CMS, Colorado/Utah/Kansas Departments of Health* Successful experience with development, interpretation, compliance and revision of Medical Staff bylaws, rules and regulations and policies and procedures* Successful experience with integrating medical staff services with risk management and patient safety initiatives* Proven expertise implementing/managing large credentialing database, MD-Staff experience preferred* Proficient abilities in arbitrating and negotiating issues between physicians and Medical Staff leaders/hospital departments, maintaining appropriate sensitivity and confidentiality of issues, and representing the Medical Staffs in hospital/corporate operations* Adept ability to educate and motivate physician leaders and staff to effectively facilitate improvement projects, process redesign and risk reduction efforts by optimizing HRO principals, organization change management philosophies and Lean/Kotter conceptsYour Connected Community:When people and places align, incredible things happen.
