Atlantic Health System is seeking a full-time Supervisor, Payroll for the Payroll Department based out of Corporate Building in Morristown NJ.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Responsible for the supervision and coordination of payroll processing operations.
Supervise and coordinate activities of payroll staff
Coordinate, direct & supervise bi-weekly payroll preparation, processing & distribution
Manage payroll workload to meet operational requirements
Ensure payroll is processed in an accurate, compliant, and timely manner
Direct the preparation of payroll related documents
Oversee compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements
Compile data from payroll sources
Review and improve payroll policies and procedures
Oversee the maintenance of current deduction interface or uploads
Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements and interpret new legislation impacting payroll
Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal rules and laws
Perform and support all internal and external audits related to payroll
Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production
Ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholding and company deductions
Manage performance and develop Payroll staff
Oversee all transactions processed by the Payroll Team to ensure compliance with AHS policy, Payroll procedure, and Labor laws
Assist Payroll Team with resolving errors or responding to employee concerns
Participate and perform year-end activities to ensure year end W2 forms and reports are generated timely & accurately
Provide ongoing training to the Payroll Team on policies, regulations & processes
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or commensurate experience preferred
Minimum Experience:
5+ years Payroll experience with 3 - 4 years in a supervisory role
Must have experience managing and working with a team
Excellent organization and time management skills
Proficient in API & Excel
Oracle experience a plus
Knowledge of Microsoft office & PeopleSoft
Attention to detail and accuracy are top priority
Strong written and verbal skills
Ability to work under pressure and high stress situations
Ability to multi-task & be flexible to changing priorities
Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential matters
Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
