We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Vice President of Digestive Health Institute for our Central Florida Division (CFD) located in Orlando, Florida.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President of the Digestive Health Institute is directly responsible for the medical and surgical programs within digestive health across the AdventHealth CFD, which includes 15 hospitals, and multiple ambulatory and physician office locations across six counties, plus a partnership with four hospitals in the HealthFirst Health System in Brevard County. The scope includes five sub-service lines with more than 400 specialty physicians: GI, Colorectal, General Surgery, Bariatrics and Diabetes/Endocrinology.
The VP is responsible for the development of strategies and standards of care across the digestive health service lines, physician practices and outpatient programs to fully integrate care and drive a value-based model. This may include oversight and/or leadership of program administrators, provider teams and ancillary support teams as needed to effectively drive performance across the care continuum. Advises/manages all service areas that impact patient care for the digestive health patient population. This position is responsible for providing leadership and subject matter expertise for the digestive health service line resulting in high quality outcomes and effective performance. Plans, directs, coordinates and serves as the administrative liaison for service line activities, projects and programs including marketing and philanthropy and any other activities digestive and specialty surgery in nature. Works closely with the medical leadership regarding patient services including delivery of services, state of relevant technology and equipment, revenue generation, reimbursement changes, budget and all other related administrative matters. Evaluates patient care, operational efficiencies, performance methods and employee issues and makes recommendations. Participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Job Duties:

Utilize financial data to diagnose business strengths and weaknesses and identify the implications for potential strategies; keeping a financial perspective in the forefront when making strategic decisions.

Apply cost containment principles while endeavoring to create new or improved methods of revenue generation and/or models of care.

Partner with administrative and physician leaders to drive quality of care and reputation improvements and create standards of care across the service line
Support Clinical Performance Improvement activities and contribute to the organization improvement.
Translate strategic priorities into operational reality; aligning communication, accountabilities, resource capabilities, internal processes, and ongoing measurement systems to ensure that strategic priorities yield measurable and sustainable results.
Secure and compare information from multiple sources to identify business issues; committing to an action after weighing alternative solutions against important decision criteria.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Knowledge of clinical practices and processes, legal and regulatory requirements and mandates, and the ability to gather and evaluate data and outcome results to use in programmatic development

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in a healthcare business or clinical science (master’s degree preferred)
Minimum of ten (10) years of diverse experience in the digestive and specialty surgery arena, or other relative service line, with a minimum of three years of experience in program development
Minimum of seven (7) years in progressively responsible administrative work or directorship of multiple departments in a hospital or hospital system
Extensive experience working closely with physicians and proven ability to gain trust and credibility
Extensive experience facilitating and managing challenging situations, including conflict resolution and demonstration of outstanding interpersonal skills
Experience in facilitating high-level multidisciplinary group decisions
