Oversee all finance related activities for MHSC including: Methodist Hospital, Proctor Hospital, Pekin Hospital and all affiliate clinics including monitoring their progress against their annual operating budget.
Continuously analyze financial performance, operations, policies, systems and procedures to ensure efficient and effective regional performance.
Serves as a strategic partner to the regional leadership team, providing support and advice.
Works closely with the team regarding business related planning and problem solving for the region
Provides organizational leadership for customer service performance and incentives.
Works with the President and CEO to support the decision making and understanding of operations.
Investigate and maintain a current knowledge of all applicable regulations and standards to ensure compliance with institutional rules and regulations.
Prepare, implement and monitor an annual operating budget that encompasses all funding sources and ensure compliance with institutional rules and regulations.
Develops and or prepares regional board level reports and presentations.
Understand and forecast regional areas revenue and expense streams.
In partnership with the President and CEO, leads in the improvements of revenue growth, expense reduction and overall financial performance of above mentioned hospitals
Monitors financial operations and identifies opportunities for improvement.
Oversees the production and distribution of all the management, financial, accounting and budget reports
Bachelor's Degree required
CPA certification, Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Management highly preferred
Ten (10) years Finance/Accounting Experience
Five (5) years of progressive leadership experience with proven leadership capabilities within the healthcare industry
Methodist Hospital was founded through the efforts of deaconesses of the Methodist Episcopal Church. On May 24, 1900, Methodist opened as Deaconess Home and Hospital, with 20 beds and its own school of nursing. The first permanent building was dedicated in 1917 and the name was changed to Methodist Hospital. Today Methodist is a -375 licensed bed hospital operating 330 beds.
Proctor Hospital traces its roots back to Cottage Hospital, which was founded in 1882. In 1907, the hospital was renamed after benefactor John C. Proctor. The hospital has been located in north Peoria since the 1950s. Proctor Hospital, today a 220 licensed bed hospital operating 75 acute/critical beds.
Pekin Hospital was founded in 1913, chartered by a group of citizens lead by F.C. Gale, J.E. Russell, Walter Teis Smith, A.L. Koeneke and W.R. Curran.
