The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the following:
- Close the monthly GAAP books for each assigned health plan, segment and/or IPA, to include preparation and uploading of journal entries
- Perform bank-related updating and monitoring to include - upload positive pay files, research and clear daily exceptions, place stop payments on requested checks, download bank activity and monthly statements, research outstanding checks when necessary
- Working with related company to obtain, review, monitor and reconcile financial information
- Balance sheet reconciliations for all assigned cash and balance sheet accounts
- Prepare monthly financial statement review checklists
- Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including full footnote disclosure, to the state regulator
- Prepare schedules and perform analysis to assist in the preparation of the annual CPA audit and biennial regulatory audit
- Accounts payable reconciliation and serve as backup for data input; and
- Ad hoc projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Accounting degree
- 3-5 years relevant experience
- Health plan experience desirable
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
- Working knowledge (at least intermediate level) of Microsoft Office
- Analytical mindset
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
