The Bay Pines, FL VA Medical Center is searching for a BC/BE Family/Internal Medicine Physician to join their dynamic healthcare team as the Primary Care Section Chief at their Lee County (Cape Coral) Healthcare Center.
The section chief will direct, coordinate, and supervise the clinical and programmatic efforts for the delivery of Primary Care in the CWBY Bay Pines VAMC and its community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs).
Serves as a provider for patients who require care within the assigned clinic structure within the Department.
Responsible for the management of patients to include examination, access to care, enrollment, vesting, encounters, medical care management, coordination of consultation, referral of patients, development and operation of quality assurance and utilization programs including peer reviews.
Coordinates health care needs according to guidelines established by the Department of Veterans Affairs and sound medical practice.
Measurement of clinical performance is based upon quality reviews, completion of clinical reminders in CPRS, participation in medical center committees, and other methods.
An active knowledge of the patient care processes of the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Healthcare System and its clinics is maintained.
An essential element is active knowledge of the medical records system (CPRS).
Shall include using the computerized medical record system for progress notes, orders, and medical record review and completion of such records in a complete and timely manner.
Shall have knowledge of and abide by Healthcare System Bylaws, VHA Rules and Regulations and have a familiarization with existing VA specific clinical guidelines.
Primary areas of responsibility for this position are: Sebring Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC), Naples CBOC and Lee County Healthcare Center.
Preferred Experience: Board certified, Internal Medicine or Family Medicine preferred. The physician will have significant clinical experience in primary care, or equivalent clinical background and supervisory experience also preferred.
Work Hours: 8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday
Salary Range: Up to $262,720 per year
