Demonstrates, through behavior, AdventHealth’s service standards.
Review of microbiology reports, and abstraction of medical record data.
Assist in identification of healthcare-acquired infections and analysis as delegated.
Uses computer systems for data search, data entry, reports, graphs, and data visualization.
Creates presentations, newsletters, and educational materials.
Identify infection risks and trends and prepare data for dissemination to organizational leaders.
Ensures data is accurately entered for publicly reported measures and other accrediting bodies.
Support of hospital-wide safety initiatives as delegated (e.g., hand hygiene surveillance program).
Conducts literature reviews to support infection prevention education efforts.
Remains current in evidence-based practice and new emerging trends.
Maintains professional work environment that is conducive to achieving accuracy and productivity goals. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and to meet deadlines.
What Will You Need:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree’ or equivalent combination of education and experience
Team centered mindset: ability to interact cooperatively with IP team members and with multidisciplinary healthcare team
Strong organization skills

The Infection Prevention Associate is an integral part of the Infection Prevention team. This role will provide support in various ways such as aiding with surveillance systems, data abstraction and reporting, communication, and coordination of infectious disease prevention efforts. This position acts as a support and resource for the Infection Preventionist(s), including assisting with data analysis or implementation of improvement activities. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
