Reporting to the Chief Hospital Executive of Riverview Medical Center and maintaining a matrixed reporting relationship to system leadership, the Vice President and Chief Medical Officer is responsible for ensuring that the highest quality of care, patient safety, and evidence-based medical standards are practiced at RMC. As a key member of the hospital’s and region’s senior leadership teams, the CMO will be a visible leader responsible for providing strategic and clinical leadership through expertise in quality and patient safety, physician alignment, and medical staff relations.
The successful candidate must have the ability to build and nurture collaborative physician relationships, provide leadership in quality and patient safety, and maintain a calm demeanor and steady composure during times of change. Key measurements of success will include: 1) the ongoing pursuit of a continuous quality- and service-oriented culture, 2) building of effective partnerships with RMC’s highly credentialed medical staff; 3) in partnership with others, establishing and achieving goals for the hospital based on industry best practices for both quality and cost of care; 4) serving as an active participant in Riverview Medical Center and Hackensack Meridian Health’s efforts related to healthcare reform and the movement from volume to value. Critical to the success of this role will be the ability to foster positive interdisciplinary communication between the hospital, the formal Medical Staff, and Hackensack Meridian Health.
