Hospice of Acadiana, Inc. is Louisiana’s first nonprofit hospice and has built a reputation for excellence in quality end-of-life care over the last 38 years. Named one of the Top 150 Places to Work by Modern Healthcare in 2020, ranking 35th, Hospice of Acadiana is also the only nonprofit hospice organization serving the 9-parish area of Acadiana, located in south central Louisiana. In collaboration with its sister-companies, Hospice of Acadiana Foundation, Inc., Palliative Medicine of Acadiana, and Acadiana’s Center for Loss & Transition, Hospice of Acadiana, Inc. has extended the continuum of care to its population to ensure patients and families have access to compassionate care and service when it is needed most.
Headquartered in Lafayette, Hospice of Acadiana offers both inpatient and outpatient hospice to ensure compassionate end-of-life care is afforded to anyone medically eligible. Established in 1983, Hospice of Acadiana, Inc. has served more than 28,000 patients and families. With a newly constructed 12-bed inpatient hospice house, an Average Daily Census of 170+ home-care patients, and roughly 80 employees, Hospice of Acadiana, Inc. continues to be a leader in patient-centric care.
