As the Risk Manager the main responsibility is the oversight of the UHS Risk Management TERM Program. The Risk Manager reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director with dotted line reporting to the Corporate Risk Manager or designee. The Risk Manager meets personally with the Chief Executive Officer on a periodic basis. Detailed responsibilities are outlined below. As the Facility Compliance Officer (FCO), the main responsibilities are to oversee the facility's compliance program including the implementation of the UHS Compliance Program at the facility level. The FCO is considered a member of management of the facility and will report regarding Compliance Program-related matters to the Chief Executive Officer of the facility and the Division Complaince Officer.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Risk Manager is used as a resource in discussions concerning: development of new service lines, new surgical procedures, expansion or reduction of services, changes in the physical plant, etc.
The Medical Staff Bylaws reflect the Risk Manager's participation in the peer review process and defines the activities of the Risk Manager as part of this process.
The Risk Manager has oversight of the Risk Management Plan, Goals, and Objectives annually with an end of year plan review and its annual evaluation.
The Risk Manager coordinates the Patient Safety Council and ensures facility meets the UHS Patient Safety Council goals and objectives.
The Risk Manager conducts frequent informal rounds throughout the facility and/or its operating sites as time permits but at least monthly and is known by the staff as to his/her role and support in the risk management program.
The FCO will report on Compliance Program-related matters to the Board of Governors of the facility or its equivalent on annual basis, at least, or more frequently as needed.
The FCO will coordinate resources to assure proper implementation and ongoing effectiveness of the Compliance Program at the facility level.
Organize and maintain facility compliance policies and procedures.
Assure that the facility compliance program effectively prevents and/or detects violations of law, regulations,UHS or facility policies, the Code of Conduct and the Compliance Manual.
Minimum: 4 year degree in a related field.
2 years experience in the area of risk management.
Computer skills with advanced knowledge in Word, Power Point, and Excel programs.
