In this role, you will minimize and prevent the adverse effects of loss on human, physical, and financial assets. Duties also include actively investigating pending or threatened litigation and complaints.
Specific Responsibilities include:
Assisting hospital staff when responding to subpoenas and receipt of a Notice of Intent to Sue.
Reviewing medical records for potential liability upon notification of a potential issue.
Interviewing key providers after an adverse event is reported.
Evaluating correspondence from attorneys, patients, and other outside sources and formulating responses as necessary.
Establishing and maintaining all risk management claim files and ensuring maximum protection from discoverability.
Exemplifying commitment to the Seven Pillars Program and working to initiate the Care for the Caregiver and Patient Communication Consulting Service in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
Degree in nursing or appropriate clinical education and experience.
5-7 years of relevant experience.
Nursing license in the District of Columbia strongly preferred, but not required.
Relevant clinical environment and administrative experience.
