SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director, Clinical Informatics, the Manager, Clinical Informatics is accountable for the clinical and operational functions regarding people, systems, and processes supporting optimal use of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team and other stakeholders across the organizational continuum to help identify and develop informatics solutions improving patient/family-centered service and care delivery. As an advocate of the healthcare team, coordinates and facilitates to help enhance the work and effect change supporting the organization's mission and goal. This role integrates nursing science and information technology to manage and communicate data, information, and knowledge of clinical practice. This role provides clinical informatics expertise as a member of the Nursing Governance structure facilitating and coordinating the development and ongoing optimization of documentation projects and related quality and patient-safety initiatives. Is responsible for determining staffing resource allocation and associated staff development and performance management. Additionally, is responsible for the development and administration of department and organization-wide policies and procedures. This role ensures consistent project management methodologies and documentation standards are utilized to support organizational needs and effective change management.
REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Pharmacy or other related field with a Master's Degree in nursing informatics, or related healthcare, IT or business administration, i.e. PharmD, MBA preferred. A valid CA RN license, Pharmacy or other clinical licensure is required. Three (3) years progressively responsible management/leadership experience is required. Experience in clinical information systems evaluation, development, and implementation. Epic experience is required.
