Here is some of what you can expect from being a Patient Safety Sitter with us:
You will maintain a direct line of sight with patient at all times, including while family and/or visitors are in the room and you will accompany patient and ensures patient safety during transportation, testing, and procedures occurring away from the patient’s normal environment.
You will establish a safe, risk-free patient environment by utilizing knowledge of fall prevention protocols, infection control measures, and self-harm prevention.
You will monitor and report patient physical and emotional condition.
You will intervene as needed to prevent patient from harming self or others and you will seek immediate assistance for escalating incidents.
You will create clear, accurate documentation on patient status and activity during the shift.
You will demonstrates caring and empathy in all interactions and advocates for patient- and family-centered approach in all decisions and actions.
Participate as an active member of the health care team and positively promotes the rest of the team to patients/families/caregivers and other colleagues
Passionate about helping others
Reliable and Team- orientated
Excited to work in a fast-paced environment
Organized and can provide exceptional customer service
Able to read and speak English
Qualifications you will need for this role:
High school or GED
BLS certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross
One year of experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
