Constellation is taking MPL industry by storm with its Communication & Resolution Program (CRP). With this program, we will ensure that our insureds are able to handle adverse outcomes, as well as assist our clients in dealing with adverse outcomes when they happen, rather than waiting for adverse events to become claims or suits.
As our Early Intervention Consultant, you will be responsible for supporting Constellation’s Communication and Resolution Program (CRP). This role will work closely with, and serve as a liaison between, our Patient Safety and Claim Teams. You will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Communication & Resolution Program. This position will also be responsible for building and maintaining personal relationships with insureds through promotion of this program with the goal of obtaining and maintaining business. This role will assist with the education of insureds on being ideally prepared to handle adverse events including examining culture. Additionally, this role will bring expertise in adverse event investigation and evaluation, supporting care team members, communicating with patients and families, and negotiation and resolution.

You will be responsible for:
Maintain knowledge of insureds needs, competition, trends, literature, and thought leadership as it pertains to Communication and Resolution Programs (CRPs) and Reimbursement Programs
Manage and investigate early intervention cases
Assure mental health support of insureds by setting up peer support for insureds involved in adverse events
Manage communications regarding adverse event between involved insureds and patient/family
Interview insureds and patients/family members involved in adverse events
Determine potential reasonable offer of compensation where there has been medical negligence
Obtain Consent to Settle when compensation will be offered
Partner with assigned Claim Consultant or directly handle negotiations with the patient/family and insureds
Create a dashboard of metrics to measure success of the CRP program and client engagement in the program
Report cases to all obligatory internal and external reporting entities
You will have:
Bachelor’s degree – required
JD or master’s degree in healthcare field, administration, or law with emphasis in healthcare preferred
5+ years’ experience working with risk management, claim management, or proactive claim prevention required
Experience evaluating adverse events in health care
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple functions and departments
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication style
