ABOUT PUGET SOUND ORTHOPAEDICS Puget Sound Orthopaedics (PSO) is the largest independent bone and joint practice in Pierce County. In addition to three clinic locations in Lakewood, Tacoma and Gig Harbor, we also operate Lakewood Surgery Center, an outpatient ambulatory surgery center, and Puget Sound Imaging, an MRI diagnostic imaging suite. Our team comprises of 14 board-certified orthopedic surgeons, 2 podiatrists, 9 physician assistants, and a 100-member support staff. ABOUT THE POSITION The Practice Administrator reports to the care center’s Shareholders.
Responsibilities include: • Monitor and manage all aspects of the practice’s operations as a means of continuously improving the patient experience and ensuring every patient encounter is a positive one. • Lead and direct all activities related to administration, facilities, marketing, medical records, patient satisfaction, personnel management and regulatory compliance. • Develop annual budgets and manage the variables that contribute to strong financial performance. Analyze the practice’s financial performance and champion opportunities for improvement. • Develop smart, cost effective approaches for marketing the practice and enhancing its relationships with hospitals, practices and providers. • Lead a productive, team-oriented work environment. Coach and mentor staff by example and through use of clearly communicated expectations, progress meetings and performance reviews. • Manage physician and staff recruitment, onboarding and compensation administration. • Ensure that company core values are modeled and policies and procedures are followed.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree. A Master’s degree preferred. • Experience in health care administration positions (or equivalent) of increasing responsibility, ideally in an independent medical group environment and involving the management of clinics, ambulatory surgery centers and ancillaries. • Demonstrated skills in finance, human resources, marketing, operations and strategy. • Strong Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word skills; NextGen EPM and Epic EHR experience a plus.

COMPENSATION The annual salary range for this position is $190K-$210K. Benefits include: comprehensive medical, dental, and vision; flexible spending account; employer paid life and AD&D coverage, long-term disability; employee assistance program; 401K with an employer match of up to 5%; holiday, vacation and sick leave.
This position is located in Pierce County which boasts tremendous outdoor opportunities with miles of Puget Sound waterfront, Mt. Rainier National Park, 361 fresh-water lakes, alpine and cross-country skiing a short drive away and nationally ranked year-round golf courses in the vicinity, while also offering all the urban amenities.
