Leads the organization's Risk, Patient Safety and Accreditation activities to help ensure excellent care and ongoing compliance within established tribal, state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
Provides basic and complex preventive risk management assessment of processes, procedure, and programs including in-service education
Recommends risk resolution and provides education and process recommendations
Prepares progress/operational reporting; identifies areas of improvement
Reviews, codes and investigates occurrence reports; recommends corrective actions based on individual reports or trends: oversees peer review referrals
Assist with the development of staff to achieve highest level of professional growth and desired performance standards
Prepares program specific objectives, and metrics to assess program's achievement and success
Facilitates GRHC's subpoena management process. Interfaces with legal counsel.
Actively participates in a variety of committees providing information, reports and recommendations relevant to risk, peer review, and patient safety
Works closely and collaboratively with direct and ancillary patient care areas departments to promote process improvement and risk reduction strategies in response to occurrence data.
Collaborates with other Participates in departmental orientation, on the job training and quality improvement programs/initiatives
Participates in a variety of department and hospital educational programs to maintain current skill and competency levels; identifies and discusses performance or training needs with Director.
Bachelors Degree and current licensure as a registered nurse.
Two years experience as risk manager, coordinator or equivalent
Two years management experience; CPHQ or ASHRM preferred
