Summary: Provides management of professional and general liability claims files, including assessment of liability, evaluation of case reserves, development/approval of defense strategy, and negotiations (if appropriate). Provides supervision of outside claims adjuster and attorneys. Completes documents necessary for compliance with insurance reporting requirements.

Supervise professional and general liability claims files, including assessment of liability, case reserves, development/approval of defense strategy, direction of negotiation, etc.
Supervise outside adjusters and attorneys
Establish files and implement Community Health Systems’ protocol for potentially compensable events, claims and litigation

While this job has no in-house supervisory responsibilities, there is supervision of outside adjusters and attorneys.

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.
3 to 5 years experience in direct supervision of professional liability claims/litigation.
Experience in healthcare field preferred.
General insurance knowledge preferred
