Regional Director, Risk Management
Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet, IL & Presence St. Mary Hospital in Kankakee, IL
In a promising role that supports two locations within our system, the professional we select will oversee risk-management and patient-safety programs. This individual will investigate occurrences of potential liability to our hospitals, refer appropriate cases to third-party payors and the risk manager, and facilitate closure of cases. In addition to tracking and trending variances and identifying areas for improvement, this person will be responsible for:
Establishing long and short-term goals/strategies for risk-management/patient-safety programs.
Reviewing variance reports and entering and trending occurrences in the Midas system.
Preparing and presenting routine and ad hoc safety-related reports using the Midas platform.
Following up on and documenting adverse outcomes, root-cause analyses, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) projects.
Proactively planning and presenting safety-related educational programs.
Providing ad hoc safety consultation for clinical leaders, physicians, and staff.
Five or more years of experience as an acute-care clinician in a role such as RN, physical therapist, pharmacist or similar
Three or more years in clinical-risk management within an acute-care setting or with an insurance firm
Bachelor's degree in a clinical discipline
Proficiency in Windows-style applications and knowledge of EMR programs
Current licensure as an RN or other clinical professional discipline in the state of Illinois
Master's degree in a related area.
