The Oregon Clinic is seeking a full-time Occupational Health Nurse to join our Quality and Risk Management staff in the Gateway area of NE Portland. The Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for the development and administration of efficient and professional operations for occupational health services such as developing a Flu vaccine campaign and immunization program for employees and providers, and developing staff competency checklists for Medical Assistant and nursing staff. Under the direction of the Director of Quality and Risk Management, the Occupational Health and Safety Professional will perform functions relating to Education, Policy Development, Safety, Infection Prevention/Control, and Compliance. Duties will included (but are not limited to) the following:
Oversee and manage the administrative and operational activities of occupational health and infection prevention services in a busy muti-specialty practice clinical setting.
Develops clinic wide educational initiatives, including those related to regulatory compliance such as Oregon Department of Health, OSHA and community standards.
Responds to on the job injuries. Ensure procedure is completed appropriately including the completion of incidents and exposure forms and tracking.
Coordinate patient and employee vaccination campaign throughout the organization.
Administer, develop, update and implement system wide policies and procedures relating to occupational health and safety, infection prevention and control, exposures, immunizations, ergonomics, safety and training.
Ensure Compliance with occupational health and safety, infection prevention standards in all clinics and other work areas or as pertains to ADA and CMS.
The ideal candidate will be a flexible, high energy, professional team player, with at least 2 years of occupational health experience. This is a high volume position with opportunity for innovation and improvement. Active Oregon nursing license required.
Medical, Vision, and Rx Insurance is 100% paid for by The Oregon Clinic for full-time employees.
Active Oregon state nursing license as registered nurse or licensed practical nurse required.
Current clinical nursing experience required.
Bachelor’s degree required.
At least two years of occupational health experience or experience in a related field.
Certification in occupational health nursing or case management preferred.
Basic understanding of federal and state regulations applicable to occupational and environmental health and safety.
Prior experience with EMR and Centricity a plus
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with physicians, and office staff, patients and their families
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong commitment to patient care and privacy guidelines
