The Patient Safety Program Manager position is responsible for leading and managing patient safety initiatives impacting clinical and operational processes throughout the institution. The position serves as a highly visible, energetic champion of quality and patient safety and will work closely with Senior leadership throughout the institution. The candidate will provide leadership for institution-wide efforts to continuously improve the safety to all patients.
They will provide leadership and expert consultation in the oversight for the organization-wide, integrated patient safety program, ensuring that patient safety concepts are integrated into systems, processes, policies and services throughout the organization including patient care and support services. Works with hospital leaders to proactively explore potential system failures, to analyze and take action on problems that have occurred, and to encourage the reporting of adverse events and near misses, both internally and externally. Specific focus will be toward the review and reduction of medical errors and other factors that contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or other healthcare related field
Master’s degree Nursing/healthcare related field
Risk Management/Patient Safety Certification
10 years’ clinical experience, with focus in Patient Safety and/or risk management;
Hospital operations to include experience in a hospital or academic medical center
