The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Financial Management (OFM) is seeking a Supervisory Auditor to serve as a division director with the Division of Provider Audit Operations (DPAO), Financial Services Group (FSG). In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to serve as the first-line supervisor, managing a staff with overall responsibility for overseeing and coordinating the Medicare cost report audit and reimbursement process with Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) to ensure that payments made to institutional providers are accurate. DPAO is responsible for developing and overseeing a system for tracking corrections of deficiencies found in contractor cost report audits, including liaison with other CMS groups for corrective action.
In addition to supervisory duties, the Director serves as a technical expert and advisor to CMS leadership on developing, testing, and updating Medicare desk reviews, audit guidelines, programs and processes, to ensure achievement of program objectives.
Specifically you will:
•Direct activities to oversee performance of audit operations. •Develop desk review processes for Medicare audit and payment functions. •Establish team work goals and advise staff on achievement of goals. •Ensure that contractors comply with regulatory requirements, polices, or procedures.
Knowledge of Medicare cost reports and Medicare Part A reimbursement and experience in developing Medicare audit programs and recommending methods to improve Medicare audit and payment functions is strongly desired.
