We are looking for a Director of Patient Safety to centralize, expand and manage our Patient Safety Program for our specialty-specific suites of products and services. As our Director of Patient Safety, you will work across multiple departments to analyze patient safety impacts within our software and implement solutions. You are passionate about leveraging your strong understanding of the patient safety risks within healthcare information systems to improve patient outcomes
You are naturally curious about the way things work and easily pick up on new software and systems
You are a skilled presenter and collaborator with a distinct ability to influence others and impart knowledge
Work in concert with our executive, leadership, product and client services teams to centralize, enhance and manage the Patient Safety program for our software products and services
Analyze our software systems to identify potential high-risk areas & features and make recommendations on proposed solutions
Follow up on any findings with key stakeholders through training and education and/or recommendation of system and/or workflow modifications
Work in conjunction with the Product Development, Support and Leadership teams on new software functionalities
Develop systems to monitor the quality of our processes and software with respect to patient safety
Proactively maintain knowledge of current regulatory and compliance guidance and awareness of issues and risk areas related to patient safety and electronic health records
Be a department representative and subject matter expert and work collaboratively with others across the Modernizing Medicine family of companies
Create and conduct education sessions with others regarding patient safety
Function as a key resource to advise others within Modernizing Medicine regarding patient safety
Skills & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (strongly preferred) or equivalent experience
5-7 years of clinical experience preferably with Risk Management Experience
5+ years experience working with an Electronic Health Record
Subject matter expert on patient safety in software
Self-motivated, detail oriented and a collaborative and consummate team player
Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems and propose solutions for relatively complex systems and programs that cross department/divisional lines
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in order to effectively work with others who may have conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions
