CHART seeks an experienced, articulate, and solution-focused professional for a Risk and Patient Safety Consultant position. This professional collaborates daily with the CHART team and member hospital’s risk and quality professionals driving change and reducing risk exposures. The position requires travel to member hospitals in Pennsylvania, New York and West Virginia throughout the year.
The Risk and Patient Safety Consultant serves as a consultant and liaison in risk management and patient safety for CHART members. The consultant focuses on developing collaborative relationships with members to drive change and reduce risk exposures while developing targeted plans and resources. The consultant conducts onsite focused assessments, develops and presents education on relevant topics and conducts research on healthcare risk management issues to support organization initiatives.
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field
A minimum of five years risk management and patient safety experience in a clinical setting including a hospital or multi-specialty health system environment
Three years professional liability consulting experience (preferred)
Excellent planning, organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
Demonstrated strong analytical skills and ability to work independently
Excellent grammar, writing, and proofreading skills, with an attention to detail
Demonstrated technical ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite and other software applications
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), or other related certification (preferred)
A valid driver’s license required with the ability to travel up to 50% to member hospitals as necessary
