Baptist Health is seeking Risk Management professionals to fill our Risk Management Coordinator and our Patient Advocate opportunities with our corporate office.
The Risk Management Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Executive Director Quality in administering the risk management program on a day to day basis, including managing and analyzing risk management data, facilitating systems analysis to promote and improve patient safety, conducting and facilitating risk management educational programs based upon availability and identified needs, and compliance with The Joint Commission’s standards relating to risk management and patient safety.
Valid Alabama RN license. Minimum five years of hospital experience.
1 to 3 years of experience in quality assurance or risk management.
Must be proficient with Word, Excel, and other Microsoft applications.
The Patient Advocate acts as a liaison between hospital administration and management and patients and families to improve the patient experience and satisfaction with hospital care and services. The position falls under the Quality and Patient Safety umbrella and reports to the System Director of Risk Management, Risk Management Department.
The advocate works directly with clinical risk management and general counsel. Identifies and resolves patient concerns through direct interaction with the patient and family and in collaboration with department leaders (nursing staff, nursing leadership, physicians and related clinical and nonclinical parties). Proactively identifies trends in patient concerns and issues and participates in improvement initiatives to enhance patient experiences.
Position requires a minimum Associates Degree in Nursing, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
In lieu RN, will consider clinical degrees with an extensive background in risk mitigation, patient rights and education.
Minimum 2 years of clinical healthcare experience required.
RN License preferred.
Previous experience in patient education and/ or advocacy and knowledge of patient rights and regulations preferred.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office applications and ability to quickly adapt to hospital application.
