Assesses, plans, implements, manages and coordinates risk management activities at Portneuf Medical Center and Partners; including management, analysis, monitoring, and reporting of risk management information; oversight of incident tracking; medical and safety follow-up in compliance with applicable laws and regulations; coordination with Ardent of insurance coverage; and management of claims against the facility and interfacing with legal counsel. Conducts risk management educational programs with the objective of controlling and minimizing loss to protect Portneuf Medical Center and Partners. Serves as the organization's expert resource, keeps abreast of the trends in the industry, gathers and analyzes data and prepares reports as required to keep leaders advised n developments in liability and risk. Identifies and evaluates, and, as appropriate works with others to correct patient safety concerns and potential risks as they relate to patient care, employees, or visitors. Oversees the management of medical malpractice claims brought against Portneuf Health Partners; and coordinates, as appropriate, legal activities. This includes the coordination of medical and legal consultations on issues relating to medical/legal issues or potential litigation situations. Coordinate and facilitates activities involved with disclosure of adverse events, Root Cause Analysis, FMEAs, and Intensive Reviews.
Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred. 5-7 years experience in hospital and/or appropriate healthcare environment. Risk Management background and experience in medical malpractice preferred. Certification in Risk Management.
