Job Description: The Risk Manager for our Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono location is responsible for the risk management activities at both the facility and practice locations, which includes administering the risk management program on a day-to-day basis, managing and analyzing risk management data, investigating and reporting potentially compensable events, conducting risk management educational programs, and complying with risk management related standards, all with the objective of controlling and minimizing loss to protect the assets of the facility. The Risk Manager performs these functions and reports to the Administrator, Risk Management. This individual is responsible for reviewing and formulating policy or organizational changes and making recommendations for final approval to the Administrator.

Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's of science degree in nursing (BSN) or related field and current PA Registered Nurse license is required. Must have communication skills commensurate with the ability to relate effectively and efficiently on all levels of the organization beginning with recipients of patient care and concluding with senior hospital management and interpersonal skills necessary to negotiate in high stress situations when representing the healthcare system in adversarial situations and events. Must be comfortable providing educational sessions for all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in the implementation of regulations from regulatory agencies to include but not limited to TJC, commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Health, Insurance companies, etc.
Licensure and Certifications: Current PA Registered Nurse license is required.
