The Clinical Risk Manager develops, implements, and coordinates risk management activities.
Develops, implements and evaluates practices and policies.
Collects and assesses data to identify potential or actual sources of risk to patients and employees.
Collaborates with staff and quality committee members with respect to risk-related incidents, policies and practices.
Develops or facilitates safety, risk and quality care initiatives.
Provides risk and regulatory management consultation to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
Participates in critical situation management, crisis management efforts, and investigations whether related to external regulatory responses, serious safety events or other.
Coordinates site audits to determine safety program compliance and effectiveness.
Reviews and trends quality data to ascertain and advise all levels of personnel in the organization in best methods of pursuing corrective measures.
Assists in the development of metrics and measures for report cards, dashboards, and other reporting mechanisms.
Assists in the development, implementation and oversight of information management systems and applications related to insurance & safety organization(s), including electronic incident and event reporting, claims, and recall databases and applications.
Serves as expert internal consultant for organizational initiatives, projects, and programs.
Works to develop and enable the organization’s capacity to become a learning and innovative leader in the industry.
Understands improvement efforts and works to spread the capabilities throughout the organization.
Works to ensure compliance integration is incorporated into performance improvement efforts.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Five years (5) of experience in related fields is required.
